N98bn Investment in 13,500 Centres Will Strengthen Primary Healthcare Nationwide – TMV

The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) says the Federal Government’s injection of ₦98 billion into primary healthcare centres across the country will significantly boost the delivery of healthcare services at the grassroots.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, the group said the funding demonstrates that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to strengthening healthcare delivery at the primary level.

TMV noted that the disbursement of the funds in 2025 was aimed at fast-tracking primary healthcare delivery and improving the overall wellbeing of Nigerians.

According to the group, information from the Federal Government at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Health Convention and Roundtable in Abuja indicated that the investment represents one of the largest single-year commitments to grassroots healthcare in recent times.

“We applaud this initiative as it is expected to bring an additional 5,212 facilities into the system and deepen access to quality healthcare in rural and underserved communities across the country,” the statement said.

The group added that the intervention aligns with the Tinubu administration’s broader agenda to reposition the health sector as a key pillar of national development.

TMV also disclosed that the financial injection has already led to the upgrade of 2,565 health centres, while 1,456 primary healthcare centres are currently undergoing renovation nationwide.

It further stated that the Federal Government’s deliberate policy of investing in rural health institutions would strengthen communities, improve public health outcomes, and enhance the productivity of the local population.
