FG’s Revenue Dashboard Will Enhance Transparency in Allocation, Monitoring – TMV

The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has applauded the Federal Government’s introduction of monthly revenue dashboards aimed at promoting transparency in income and expenditure across the three tiers of government.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, the group expressed confidence that the initiative would significantly reduce corruption and improve fiscal accountability.

According to TMV, the Federal Government, under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance, has adopted the revenue dashboard template to effectively monitor and track increased resources expected to accrue to the federal, state, and local governments. The group noted that this follows the presidential executive order unlocking additional oil revenues from NNPC Limited, as well as anticipated gains from the implementation of the new tax reform framework.

The group aligned with the position of the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, stating that improved revenue inflows would drive more productive capital deployment.

TMV further expressed optimism that the three tiers of government would prioritise capital expenditure over recurrent spending, channeling resources into critical sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, energy, and other productive areas. This, it said, would help curb excessive consumption patterns within the economy.

The group also projected that enhanced revenue generation would reduce debt burdens across all levels of government, facilitate the clearance of outstanding arrears, and stimulate growth-oriented sectors of the economy.

It added that the introduction of the revenue dashboards would not only strengthen transparency in public finance management but also empower Nigerians to hold government institutions accountable for the use of public funds.
