PTAD Completes ₦32,000 Pension Arrears Payment

The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has fully settled the ₦32,000 pension increment arrears for eligible pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).

Total paid: ₦1.73 billion

Beneficiaries: 54,206 pensioners

Coverage period: August 2024 – August 2025 (13 months)

Breakdown

Parastatals Pension Department (PaPD):

₦825.7 million paid to 25,804 pensioners

Tertiary Education & Health Pension Department (TEHPD):

₦908.8 million paid to 28,402 pensioners

PTAD had earlier cleared 12 months of arrears in phases, and this final payment completes all outstanding obligations.

Some pensioners are excluded from this increment, including those from:

Peoples Bank

NICON Insurance

NITEL/MTEL

PHCN

Others already receiving 10.66% or 12.95% increases, as directed by the National Salaries Incomes and Wages Commission.
