Chief Loye Charges the youths to embrace reading culture

The youths have been charged to stop being entitled and embrace hardwork and reading culture. Chief Loye Olowookere said this in an Exclusive Interview with Journalists in his Abuja office.

Chief Loye Olowookere who is the Host of Abuja Book City, is also the Coordinator of the Network of Book Clubs and Reading Culture Promoters in Nigeria (NBRP). According to him, “the youths should stop entitlement mentality, rather they should set goals work hard and achieve it.”

He Reiterated that it is more honourable to pass through normal process, have mentors, and be intentional about their goals.

He also said that Reading Culture Promoters in Nigeria was established in 2020, and the aim is to revive reading culture, particularly at the grassroots. The organization, with chapters in Lagos and Abuja, has a major project to establish libraries in all 774 local governments, supported by various partners. Funding challenges are addressed through, voluntary contributions, and efforts to secure government support.

“The network combats corruption in education, advocating for genuine reading practices over shortcuts like "miracle centers." He emphasized the importance of reading for personal and societal development, urging parents to encourage their children to read and for youth to adopt a goal-oriented mindset.” Chief Loye said.
