NEPZA, 20 Other MDAs to Join FG’s Revenue Optimisation Platform to Boost Financial Transparency
The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) and 20 other Federal Government agencies are set to integrate into the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform (RevOP) and the Federal Treasury e-Receipt (FTe-R) system as part of efforts to strengthen transparency and accountability in public financial management.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEPZA, Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi, disclosed this following a meeting held in Abuja between the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, and the chief executives of the affected agencies.
The Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform, approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC), is designed to curb financial leakages, eliminate revenue-related fraud, and enhance the Federal Government’s financial transparency agenda under the Renewed Hope Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Muhammed Sanusi, the minister explained that the platform would provide a comprehensive framework for tracking government revenues and expenditures.
According to him, 31 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) have already been integrated into the platform, while 21 additional agencies are expected to come on board in the next phase.
“We encourage all affected agencies to embrace this important initiative without delay, as it will significantly strengthen financial due process and accountability across government institutions,” he said.
Dr. Ogunyemi reaffirmed NEPZA’s readiness for full compliance, noting that the Authority’s robust digital financial management system positions it well for seamless integration.
“We are encouraged by the government’s commitment to this initiative and fully support the implementation of RevOP. The President’s leadership on this critical financial monitoring system demonstrates a clear commitment to transparency and accountability, which are essential to advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Ogunyemi stated.
He added that NEPZA remains committed to supporting all government initiatives aimed at improving financial governance and public sector efficiency.
