Abuja, Nigeria — It is a moment defined by pride, purpose, and powerful inspiration as veteran media professional and women’s advocate, Evelyn Onyilo, has been formally inducted into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), three decades after earning her degree in Mass Communication.

Members of the Initiative for Women’s Accelerated Development in Africa (INWOAD) have celebrated their Founder and President with heartfelt commendations, describing the achievement as “long overdue” and profoundly inspiring. They hailed her resilience, discipline, and unwavering commitment to excellence over the years.

Speaking shortly after her induction, an emotional Onyilo reflected on her journey:

“I give glory to God I finally did it. It is never too late to seek knowledge or improve yourself. I’m grateful to everyone who encouraged me along the way.”

A household name in media and advocacy, Onyilo’s career spans decades of meaningful impact. She served with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) for 22 years, earning widespread respect for her professionalism and credibility as a broadcaster. She also made history as President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, where she championed the advancement and protection of women in media.

Currently, she is the Publisher of Phenomenal People Magazine, where she continues to amplify voices and spotlight stories that shape society.

Beyond journalism, Onyilo leads INWOAD, a platform dedicated to advancing gender equality, women’s empowerment, and inclusive development across Africa. A committed Rotarian, she is widely admired for her humanitarian service and enduring dedication to community impact.

INWOAD members emphasized that her induction into NIPR is not merely a personal triumph, but a collective victory for all who believe in growth, integrity, and perseverance.
