NCC, ATCON Strengthen Industry–Regulator Ties at Abuja Courtesy Visit
The Management of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on February 17, 2026, received members of the Executive Committee of the Association of Telecom Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) on a courtesy visit to the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja.
The ATCON delegation was led by its President, Tony Emoekpere, and included the Vice President of the Association and Chief Executive Officer of the Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN), Muhammed Rudman, alongside other members of the Executive Committee.
The NCC team was led by the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Aminu Maida, and comprised the Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, Abraham Oshadami, as well as the Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management, Rimini Makama, and other senior officials of the Commission.
The visit provided an opportunity for both organisations to strengthen collaboration and reaffirm their shared commitment to the growth and sustainability of Nigeria’s telecommunications industry. Discussions focused on deepening industry–regulator engagement, addressing operational challenges within the sector, and promoting policies that support innovation, investment, and improved service delivery for consumers.
Both parties expressed optimism about continued partnership in advancing Nigeria’s digital economy and enhancing the overall performance of the telecommunications ecosystem.
