NAWOJ Mourns 6 Journalists Killed in Billiri–Kaltungo Road Crash
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) is in deep mourning following the tragic loss of 6 Journalists who died in a fatal road accident along the Billiri–Kaltungo Road on Wednesday evening. Among the victims were two members of the NAWOJ Gombe State Chapter.
The journalists were returning from the wedding ceremony of a colleague, a staff member of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), when their vehicle was involved in the devastating crash. Four other journalists, including one NAWOJ member, sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.
The National Chairperson of NAWOJ, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim, has expressed profound grief over the incident, extending her heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the injured, and the entire journalism community. She prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed souls and for the speedy recovery of those injured.
This heartbreaking incident has dealt a heavy blow to the journalism profession in Gombe State and across Nigeria.
