Kalu Targets 150 Million Registrations as Renewed Hope Partners Expand Nationwide

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has directed the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP) to mobilise no fewer than 150 million supporters nationwide in support of the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Kalu issued the directive in Abuja on Thursday while hosting a delegation of the group from Edo, Ekiti, and Katsina States. The visit coincided with activities surrounding the National Convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and was aimed at reaffirming the group’s commitment to promoting the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.

Founder of the initiative, Kalu reiterated that the core objective of RHP is to promote government achievements, deepen democratic engagement, and secure Nigeria’s future through sustained grassroots mobilisation.

He charged members to take the Renewed Hope Agenda to all segments of society, including markets, places of worship, motor parks, and educational institutions.

“We want campus branches in all universities, and a presence in markets, local governments, churches, mosques, and motor parks. Anywhere people gather, we want the Renewed Hope Agenda to be the conversation,” he said.

Kalu urged members to simplify and communicate government policies in ways that resonate with ordinary Nigerians, stressing that widespread understanding of the administration’s agenda would strengthen public support for the APC.

He further explained that the group’s responsibilities extend beyond electioneering to include voter mobilisation, advocacy, and civic engagement.

“Our ambition is to raise 150 million supporters online. While it may sound ambitious, the ongoing registration figures are encouraging and show growing acceptance of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he added.

Kalu noted that the group’s long-term mandate also includes legislative advocacy, particularly for key reforms such as reserved seats for women, independent candidacy, local government autonomy, and state policing.

Describing members as “change agents and defenders of democracy,” he emphasised that the platform remains open to partnerships with individuals and organisations committed to national development.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of RHP, Mathias Ehizua, described the initiative as a strategic platform driven by data, noting that it is the only support group operating a comprehensive online membership database.

He said the delegation briefed the Deputy Speaker on the group’s activities and progress within two months of its establishment, particularly in membership registration.

In separate remarks, key state representatives—including Ekiti State Secretary Kayode Eso, Katsina Zonal Coordinator Bishir Yahaya, and Edo State Women Leader Judith Ife—pledged their commitment to expanding the group’s reach across polling units, wards, and local government areas.

Also speaking, Edo State Coordinator Armstrong Adedigba disclosed that 11,800 members have already been registered in the state within two months, adding that civil society organisations and clergy groups are aligning with the initiative.
