Deputy Speaker Kalu Takes President Tinubu’s Unity Message to Abia Stakeholders, Urges Igbo to Invest Their Votes

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, PhD, CFR, has reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s call on APC leaders to strengthen party unity, deepen stakeholder engagement, and promote reconciliation nationwide.

Kalu delivered the President’s message during courtesy visits across Abia North, Central, and South Senatorial Zones, aimed at consolidating APC structures and aligning stakeholders with the party’s vision of national unity and political stability.

He visited former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia North); Senator John Bob Nwannunu (Abia Central); and APC chieftain Sir Mac Wabara (Abia South). Discussions focused on party cohesion, collaboration, and grassroots strengthening.

Speaking on national politics, the Deputy Speaker urged the Igbo to be strategic and pragmatic, stressing that votes should be invested, not wasted. He said the shortest route to an Igbo presidency lies in building strong alliances, particularly by supporting the South West, to foster trust and reciprocity within the Nigerian political landscape.

Kalu reaffirmed his support for President Tinubu, noting that the administration has demonstrated courage, inclusiveness, and political will in policy implementation and project distribution, including in the South East.

He also presented his two-year legislative scorecard to party leaders and elder statesmen, inviting open assessment in the spirit of accountability.

Looking ahead to 2027, the Deputy Speaker charged APC stakeholders in Abia to intensify grassroots mobilization, declaring that the party now has the structure and momentum to secure outright victory for President Tinubu in the state.

Elder statesmen commended Kalu’s performance and transparency, pledging their support to strengthen party unity and ensure electoral success.
