The Independent Media and Policy Initiative (IMPI) has said that despite recent security challenges and isolated incidents of kidnappings across parts of the country, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration has recorded significant gains in the fight against terrorism and banditry.

According to the policy think tank, more than 8,000 terrorists and bandits have been neutralised by security forces since 2023, while over 11,600 criminal suspects have been arrested through coordinated military and police operations nationwide.

In a policy statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Omoniyi Akinsiju, IMPI maintained that the administration's counter-terrorism campaign has achieved notable tactical successes, aided by improved intelligence gathering, strategic military operations, acquisition of modern military hardware, and enhanced training of security personnel.
