TMSG Urges African Democratic Congress to Focus on Internal Reforms Amid Dispute
The Tinubu Media Support Group (TMSG) has encouraged the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to address its internal challenges and focus on strengthening its structures.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Emeka Nwankpa, and Secretary, Dapo Okubanjo, the group expressed concern over recent claims suggesting a plot to position Bola Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate in 2027, noting that such assertions may not accurately reflect the situation.
According to the statement, the group observed reports from ADC leadership alleging attempts to influence the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding party recognition, as well as claims of external interference in its internal affairs. TMSG, however, suggested that these issues may be better understood within the context of the party’s internal dynamics.
The group also referenced developments within the ADC, including differing views surrounding its leadership, notably involving David Mark, and past political alignments linked to Atiku Abubakar. It noted that such developments have generated varying interpretations among stakeholders within the party.
TMSG further observed that some of the matters raised are currently before the courts, and emphasized the importance of allowing due process to take its course.
While acknowledging the complexities involved in building and managing political parties, the group encouraged stakeholders to engage constructively and explore practical solutions that would enhance unity and internal cohesion.
