TCN Announces Planned Maintenance at Katampe Transmission Substation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) wishes to inform the public that its maintenance crew will undertake scheduled maintenance at the Katampe 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The maintenance is required to enable TCN’s maintenance crew to reconnect the newly installed 330kV Busbar 1 disconnector switch of the 75Mvar System Shunt Reactor to the 330kV Busbar 2.

Consequently, customers of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) in Wuse Zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, Utako, Jahi, Jabi, Central Business District (CBD), parts of Maitama, and Mpape will experience a 30-minute power interruption, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., during the switching operation.

TCN apologizes for any inconvenience the planned maintenance may cause electricity consumers in the affected areas and appreciates their understanding and cooperation.
