Senator Abba Moro Condemns Killing of MACBAN Chairman Ardo Muhammad, Demands Thorough Investigation

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, PhD, has strongly condemned the killing of the Benue State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Ardo Risku Muhammad.

Alhaji Muhammad and his associate, Yakubu Isah, were reportedly ambushed and killed by armed men on Saturday while returning from a peace meeting in the state.

Senator Moro described the attack as barbaric, senseless, and unacceptable, stressing that every human life is sacred. He maintained that no individual has the moral or constitutional right to take the life of an innocent and unarmed citizen.

The Senate Minority Leader called on security agencies to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation to identify those responsible for the heinous crime and ensure they are brought to justice.

Senator Moro commended the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, for promptly condemning the killings. However, he noted that if the state government had been more proactive in fulfilling its constitutional responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the people, the tragic incident might have been prevented.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of Alhaji Ardo Risku Muhammad and Yakubu Isah, urging all stakeholders to work together in addressing the worsening security challenges confronting Benue State and to promote lasting peace across communities.
