Oyo Abduction: TMV Backs FG’s Security Measures, Expresses Confidence in Safe Rescue of Victims

The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has commended the Federal Government’s swift response to the abduction of students and teachers from two communities in Oyo State, expressing confidence that the victims will be rescued safely.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, the group particularly praised President Bola Tinubu’s approval of key security interventions, including the immediate recruitment of 1,000 forest guards in collaboration with the Oyo State Government.

TMV also welcomed other measures approved by the President, such as the deployment of a specialised security unit to track the kidnappers and the consideration of a military outpost in the affected area.

The group noted that the President further demonstrated concern for the victims through the recent visit of a high-powered Federal Government delegation led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, to the affected communities.

According to TMV, the measures underscore the administration’s determination to apprehend the perpetrators, secure the release of the hostages, and strengthen security in vulnerable communities.

The group expressed optimism that the initiatives would not only aid ongoing rescue efforts but also lay the groundwork for broader security reforms, including the eventual establishment of state police.

TMV also applauded President Tinubu’s insistence that no child should be denied education or become a victim of kidnapping, describing it as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to the safety and welfare of Nigerian children.

The group urged Nigerians to continue supporting government efforts, stressing that security remains a collective responsibility requiring the cooperation of all stakeholders.
