Oborevwori, Osunbor, Dafinone, Others to Attend TheNewsGuru Editor’s Book Launch

Abuja, Nigeria – Organisers of the upcoming public presentation of “Journalism NeXt: A Comprehensive Guide to Modern Journalism” have unveiled an impressive lineup of high-profile dignitaries set to attend the event.

The book, authored by Ediri Oyibo, Editor of TheNewsGuru, will be officially launched on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (FCT Council), Utako, Abuja, by 2:00 pm.

The Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, will attend as Special Guest of Honour, while former Edo State Governor and two-term Senator, Oserheimen Osunbor, will chair the occasion.

The book will be reviewed by Lemmy Ughegbe, Founder and Executive Director of the Make A Difference Initiative.

Other notable dignitaries expected include Senator Ede Dafinone; Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas; Senator Ned Nwoko; Hon. Benedict Etanabene; and Mideno Bayagbon.

Also expected are Dr. Dili Ezughah, Executive Secretary and CEO of the Nigerian Press Council; Dr. Aminu Maida of the Nigerian Communications Commission; and Comrade Alhassan Yahya Abdul, National President of the NUJ, among others.

Beyond the formal unveiling, the event will feature a presentation of research findings by the author on the state of journalism in Nigeria, with particular focus on the challenges confronting journalists in the FCT.

“Journalism NeXt: A Comprehensive Guide to Modern Journalism” examines the evolution of journalism in the digital age, addressing critical themes such as media ethics, innovation, sustainability, and the shifting role of journalists in an increasingly complex information ecosystem.

The organisers note that the event is expected to draw journalists, media entrepreneurs, academics, policymakers, students, and the general public, offering a vibrant platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and professional networking.
