IPCR Signs Strategic MoUs with Five Organisations to Deepen Peacebuilding Efforts in Nigeria

The Director-General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, has reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to advancing peacebuilding through strategic partnerships, following the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with five non-governmental organisations in Abuja.

Describing the ceremony as a “significant and forward-looking milestone,” Dr. Ochogwu said the partnerships would strengthen collective responses to Nigeria’s increasingly complex and evolving conflict landscape.

He reiterated that IPCR remains focused on delivering impactful services to government, citizens, and the wider African community through evidence-based research, policy advocacy, capacity building, and targeted interventions.

According to him, the ever-changing nature of society continues to generate new dimensions of conflict, making innovative thinking and proactive strategies essential.

“Conflicts and social challenges are constantly evolving, and in some cases, mutating. This reality demands critical thinking and forward-looking strategies to ensure sustainable solutions. IPCR remains committed to its mandate through research, advocacy, direct interventions, and capacity development for diverse stakeholders,” he stated.

The Director-General emphasized the Institute’s collaborative approach, noting its strong engagement with government agencies, international organisations, civil society groups, and community-based actors.

He urged the partner organisations to move beyond formal agreements and ensure tangible outcomes from the partnerships.

“These MoUs are not mere formalities. They are grounded in the expectation of action and measurable impact. At IPCR, we are committed to activating the spirit behind every agreement—leveraging our collective strengths to deliver real value and transform lives,” Ochogwu added.

The organisations that signed MoUs with IPCR include:

Carl-Maji Foundation, represented by Director of Programs, Faith Ayegba — a non-profit organisation focused on empowering women and youth through education, economic inclusion, and gender equality initiatives.

3C’s Met International Institute, led by Principal Partner, Chijoke Nnanna Ibeku — a specialised Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) institution providing professional training in mediation, negotiation, counselling, and conciliation.

Ihotu Children and Women Support Initiative (ICAWSI), represented by Executive Director, Emmanuel Grace Eki — an organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable women and children through education, healthcare, mentorship, and human rights advocacy.

Esteemed Hub Foundation, led by Princess Doosugh Agbadu Adu — a youth-driven organisation promoting empowerment, mental health awareness, climate action, and sustainable development across multiple states.

Peace Education and Practice Network (PEPNET), represented by Ambassador Moses Abolade — a peacebuilding organisation advancing peace education and conflict resolution skills in schools and communities.

The MoU signing underscores IPCR’s strategic commitment to strengthening multi-stakeholder collaboration in promoting peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and sustainable development across Nigeria.
