Support the Police to discharge their duties effectively: Sen. Madori Tasks Nigerians 

Nigerians have been charged to support the Nigerian Police Force, to enable them discharge their duties effectively. Senator Abdulhamid Mallam Madori, made this known during an interactive session with the media at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

Senator Abdulhamid Mallam Madori, who is the Senate Chairman, Police Affairs, is also the Senator Representing Jigawa North East Senatorial District in Jigawa State. Addressing the Journalists at the Budget Defense of the Nigerian Police Trust Fund, he reiterated that the mandate of the NPTF is to support the development of a well trained, well equipped and highly motivated Nigeria police force capable of providing the security our nation urgently requires and enhance the structure to effectively discharge their duties of protecting lives and property of Nigerians.”

He urged the participants to make meaningful contribution at the meeting. According to him, “I encourage everyone present to actively participate by sharing your thought and insight which will assist the committee in ensuring that the budget adequately addresses the security challenges before us.”

Sen. Madori, maintained that the committee reaffirms its readiness to support the NPTF and the Ministry of Police Affairs through appropriate legislative interventions whenever and wherever the need arises and the committee is committed to giving this budget an accelerated legislative process to ensure its prompt passage and transmission for implementation.

In the same vein, the Executive Secretary of the police Trust Fund Mr. Mohammed Sheidu, said the police Trust Fund have submitted their budget and the Committee on police affairs of the Senate has looked into their budget and commended the leadership of the Executive Secretary of the police Trust Fund for the good work he's doing, even though he's new in the agency, but what he has done within this short period of time is commendable.” Mr Mohammed said.
