ACOE Elects 9 members as the first substantive Executive to lead for 3 years

**ACOE Elects New Executives, Set to Excel in the Industry**

Members of the Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE) have elected nine members as the first substantive executive to lead the association for a three-year term, with Omosola Akingboye emerging as the Chairman.

The election took place on May 30, 2025, at the FCT NUJ Council and was witnessed by Ms Joy Idam, a representative from the FCT NUJ Council. 

Commending the electoral process for being free and fair, she encouraged the newly elected members to excel in the industry with a leadership style that accommodates all members and upholds journalism standards.

The newly elected executive members are:

- Chairman: Omosola Akingboye

- Vice Chairman: Khadijat Ameen

- General Secretary: Queen Kunde

- Assistant Secretary: Peace Ofeoshi

- Treasurer: Lady Joy Odor

- Financial Secretary: Augustine Ehikioya

- Welfare Officer: Chidiebere Ugwu

- Public Relations Officer (PRO): Gbemiga Olamikan

- Provost: Moses Akwashiki

After the oath of office, Ms Joy Idam admonished the new executive team for upholding ethical standards, commending the association's commitment to gender balance and the inclusion of a significant percentage of women in the newly elected executive.

In his acceptance speech, newly elected Chairman Omosola Akingboye expressed gratitude on behalf of the executive members for the honour of being elected. He assured members that the association would progress under his leadership and promised to work collaboratively to achieve the association’s goals in the spirit of a fair electoral process.

Akingboye called on partners and stakeholders to expect great things from the association, emphasizing that it would strive to uplift the standards of journalism.
