Consultant Pledges Bus Support, Partners NAWOJ FCT on Grassroots Marketplace Advocacy

The Chief Executive Officer of SHEIKS & BISHOPS Consultant, Chief Sir Chikwe Udensi, has reaffirmed his organisation’s commitment to a strategic partnership with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, to strengthen grassroots empowerment initiatives for women.

The collaboration will focus on key areas including health, social welfare, security, and community development.

Chief Udensi made this known on Tuesday in Abuja while receiving NAWOJ FCT executives, led by the Chairperson, Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpang, during a courtesy visit held as part of activities marking this year’s International Women’s Day.

He commended the association’s upcoming marketplace advocacy initiative, describing it as a strategic platform for direct engagement with women at the grassroots.

According to him, interpersonal communication remains vital, particularly in communities where limited electricity supply affects access to conventional broadcast media.

Chief Udensi also urged NAWOJ to expand its advocacy to include security awareness, encouraging journalists to sensitise the public on the importance of vigilance. He further called for sustained advocacy for improved welfare and remuneration for security personnel, noting that better support for agencies would enhance national stability.

As part of his commitment, he pledged to provide transportation support, including a bus, to facilitate NAWOJ FCT’s outreach and mobility needs.

He also encouraged stronger collaboration among stakeholders to promote social inclusion and improve citizens’ overall wellbeing.

Earlier, Comrade Ikpang emphasised the importance of partnerships in advancing women’s empowerment, gender equity, and media advocacy on critical issues such as health, governance, and social justice.

She described Chief Udensi as a visionary leader whose experience and influence would significantly enhance NAWOJ’s grassroots engagement, particularly the marketplace outreach programme scheduled for April 30.

The NAWOJ chairperson also highlighted his contributions to national development, including his role in local government administration, innovations in vehicle and motorcycle plate numbering systems, and his involvement in governance and community development initiatives.

In recognition of his contributions and support, Chief Udensi was decorated as a Patron of NAWOJ FCT, a move aimed at leveraging his experience, humanitarian efforts, and commitment to societal development.
