Mysterious Leg Fracture Leaves Abuja Widow Helpless, Seeks Urgent Support

A widow based in Abuja, Mrs. Mercy Agbo, has shared a shocking account of how her right leg suddenly fractured without any apparent cause, leaving her incapacitated and struggling to care for her two children.

Mrs. Agbo, a native of Neke Community in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State, resides in Pigba Sama Community near the Apo Mechanic Village in Abuja. Recounting the incident, she described it as surreal and unexpected.

According to her, the incident occurred on March 29, 2026, at about 10:00 p.m.

“I wanted to go into my room to sleep. As I stood up and tried to stretch my body, before I knew it, my leg broke. It felt like a movie. My neighbours rushed out and carried me,” she said.

She explained that prior to the incident, she had experienced no pain or discomfort and had gone about her normal activities, including attending church earlier that day.

“I wasn’t feeling any pain at all. It was a Sunday—I even went to church and did all my usual chores,” she added.

When asked about possible causes, Mrs. Agbo said opinions have been divided. While some attribute the incident to spiritual factors, a medical practitioner informally suggested it could be linked to calcium deficiency, although no formal medical examination has been conducted to confirm this.

A local akara (beans cake) vendor, Mrs. Agbo said her condition has rendered her unable to work, cutting off her only source of income and leaving her family in a precarious situation.

“I used to fry akara to take care of my children, but now I can’t do anything. I depend on neighbours for food and support,” she lamented.

The widow also expressed deep concern about her children’s future, particularly their education.

“I don’t know how my children will continue their schooling. Right now, feeding them is even a challenge. It will take a miracle,” she said.

Currently, Mrs. Agbo is receiving treatment at home from a traditional bone-setter, engaged through the support of concerned neighbours. However, she is appealing to the public for urgent assistance to access proper medical care and sustain her family.
