TCN Restores Ajah–Lekki 330kV Transmission Line After Outage

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) wishes to inform the public that the Ajah–Lekki 330kV Transmission Line was successfully restored to service at 3:18pm today, 21st October 2026.

At 12:40pm on October 19, 2026, Ajah 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation lost supply on the Egbin–Ajah 330kV Transmission Lines 1 and 2 due to a system disturbance.

Following the restoration of supply, Ajah–Lekki 330kV Transmission Line tripped again at 5:02pm due to a three-phase-to-ground fault on Zone 1 protection. The line was subsequently patrolled and restored at 6:50 on October 20, 2026.

However, the GIS circuit breaker at Lekki Transmission Substation could not be closed due to pole discordance.

TCN engineers have since resolved the pole discordance and successfully closed the breaker, restoring the line to service.

TCN appreciates the patience of customers of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) affected by the outage and regrets any inconvenience caused.
