All Saints Catholic Church Honours NUJ FCT Chairperson Grace Ike with 2026 Humanitarian and Service Award

Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council Chairperson, Comrade Grace Ike, has been honoured with the 2026 Humanitarian and Service Award by the Laity Council of All Saints Catholic Church Laity Council in recognition of her outstanding contributions to humanity and professional excellence in journalism.

The church premises resonated with applause and gratitude as members of the congregation celebrated the remarkable achievement, acknowledging Comrade Ike’s commitment to service, leadership, and community development.

Receiving the award in spirit, Comrade Ike expressed profound gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve and dedicated the honour to God Almighty as well as all members of the NUJ FCT Council.

Speaking in an interview, she appreciated the organisers for recognising her efforts and for “fishing her out” despite her absence, noting that she does not take the recognition for granted.

“It’s not just an award; it is an invitation to do more,” Comrade Ike said.

“I pledge to continue serving humanity and advancing the cause of journalism with humility and dedication, through the help of God.”

She further reaffirmed her commitment to promoting ethical journalism, supporting humanitarian causes, and contributing positively to society.

The latest accolade adds to the growing list of honours bestowed on Comrade Ike in recognition of her professional accomplishments in journalism and her impactful humanitarian initiatives.

The physical award was received on her behalf by the NUJ FCT Council Auditor, Comrade Rosemary Ukoko-Tega, who represented the Chairperson at the ceremony.
